Rehearsal Dinner

Friday, May 20 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Queen of Sheba
1860 The Alameda
San Jose, CA 95126
(408) 294-4313
The wedding party enjoyed a hands-on Ethiopian meal, by which I mean there were no utensils. All dishes here are served on a bed of injera, a very spongy bread. Extra rolled-up slices of injera are provided, which are intended for tearing and scooping the corn, ground beef, potatoes, spinach, and other scrumptious offerings. Some of us also enjoyed a glass of tej, a special type of wine from Ethiopia.

The Night Before

Friday, May 20 9:00pm - 2:00am
Santa Clara Billiards
4525 Stevens Creek Blvd, Santa Clara
Frankly, we were amazed at how many people came out for this. Our friends and relatives from all over the country kept three tables packed, although many didn't actually play. We would have needed double the tables if they had!

Ceremony and Reception

Saturday, May 21 6:00pm - 11:00pm
Hakone Gardens
21000 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA 95070
The biggest party of all was so richly packed with yummy goodness, we've put the details about the ceremony and the reception on their own pages.

The Day After

Sunday, May 22 11:00am - 2:00pm(ish)
Sunnyvale Baylands Park
999 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale
at Moffett Park Drive
As with the night before, we were amazed at how many friends and family members showed for this. Formals were left behind in favor of typical picnic casuals. Barbecue was served, thanks to the generous grill tending of a few guests, along with a giant bottle of Warhammer, which is a specially-packaged oversize helping of apple cyser from Rabbit's Food meadery. It's akin to cider, but harder.

Fortunately, it did not rain.

Live Music

Sunday, May 22 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Orchard Valley Coffee
349 E. Campbell Ave, Campbell, CA 95008 (at Central Ave)
One of my friends from high school came all the way from New York to see us. While he was here, he booked a local gig to share his guitar-enriched singer/songwritership. A few other guests joined us for this very pleasant, personal concert.

Please visit his website at Share The Light Productions, and catch a live performance if you can. At least check out his CDs!
